The Apple of God’s Eye

A Lecture in the Voice and Spirit of Neville Goddard

You have felt it, have you not — that quiet ache of smallness, that sense that you stand on the edge of things, unworthy of the light that seems to shine on others but never quite reaches you. You have carried the burden of unworthiness like a shadow across your days, wondering if the divine ever truly sees you, ever truly cares. Tonight I tell you the eternal truth that will dissolve every such feeling forever: you are the apple of God’s eye. You are the very apple of God’s eye.

The scripture declares it plainly: “He that toucheth you toucheth the apple of God’s eye.” What does this mean? The apple of the eye is the pupil, the delicate center, the most sensitive and protected part through which all vision flows. It is the focal point, the very heart of sight itself. God is telling you that you are that center to Him. You are not on the margin of His attention; you are its very core. You are the pupil through which the infinite looks, the cherished focus of divine affection. You are the apple of God’s eye.

And because God is your own awareness of being, because God is the I AM that you are, to see yourself as God sees you is to know yourself as this central, beloved one. You are not separate from Him. You are the very object of His gaze, the one in whom He delights without measure. Feel this now. You are the apple of God’s eye. In His sight you are precious beyond words, the center of all His love and power. There is no distance between you and this truth. You are that which He beholds with infinite tenderness.

Let this realization sink deeply into you. You have walked as though you were small, as though you were overlooked, as though the vastness of life had no particular regard for you. But God has no such indifference. He sees you as the apple of His eye. Every time you have felt unworthy, every time you have believed yourself to be on the outside looking in, you have simply forgotten this one eternal fact. Tonight you remember. You are the apple of God’s eye. God beholds you as His most intimate treasure, the pupil of His eternal vision, the center around which all things revolve in His perfect love.

See yourself now as God sees you. Not as the limited personality with its fears and failures, but as the apple of His eye. Feel the quiet dignity of that. Feel the warmth of being so cherished. There is no need to strive for worthiness; you already possess it in the eyes of the One who is your very being. You are the apple of God’s eye, and in that recognition every shadow of smallness melts away like mist before the sun. You stand revealed as the beloved, the central one, the focus of divine attention and affection.

This is not a distant promise reserved for some future day. This is the truth of your being right now. God sees you as the apple of His eye. He sees you as perfect in His sight, as the one through whom His love flows without hindrance. When you accept this, when you feel yourself to be this cherished center, the whole world begins to reflect that truth back to you. You move differently. You speak differently. You live from the quiet certainty that you are seen, you are known, you are loved beyond all measure. You are the apple of God’s eye.

Let me repeat it so that it lives in you: you are the apple of God’s eye. Not in some metaphorical sense, but in the most intimate, literal reality of your consciousness. God’s eye is turned toward you with perfect focus. You are the pupil, the center, the point of His most tender regard. Nothing can touch you without touching the apple of His eye. No limitation, no doubt, no sense of separation can remain when you know yourself as this. You are the apple of God’s eye.

Feel the shift within you even now. The old sense of being overlooked dissolves. The old belief that you must earn divine favor fades into nothingness. You do not earn what you already are. You are the apple of God’s eye. God sees you as His own, as the very center of His being. In His vision you are flawless, radiant, the beloved one upon whom His light rests eternally. Dwell in this feeling. Let it fill every corner of your awareness. You are the apple of God’s eye.

This realization is the great awakening. It is the birth of Christ within you, the unveiling of the inner man who knows himself as one with the Father. When you see yourself as God sees you, you stand in the center of all things. You are no longer the one who pleads from the outside; you are the center from which life itself flows. You are the apple of God’s eye, and in that knowledge you walk as the one who is forever beheld in perfect love.

Tonight, let every feeling of unworthiness be consumed in this truth. You are not small. You are not forgotten. You are the apple of God’s eye. God’s attention is fixed upon you with the tenderness that only infinite love can know. Feel yourself resting in that gaze. Feel yourself as the pupil of the divine eye, the point of perfect focus, the object of unending affection. This is your true identity. This is who you are.

And as you live from this, as you move through your days knowing yourself to be the apple of God’s eye, the outer world must conform to this inner conviction. It cannot do otherwise. For you are ever out-picturing that which you are conscious of being, and now you are conscious of being the apple of God’s eye. You are the cherished center, the beloved focus, the one in whom God delights. Let this truth echo within you again and again: you are the apple of God’s eye.

There may come moments when the old habit of smallness tries to reassert itself. When that happens, do not fight it. Simply return to this one fact. Return to the feeling of being the apple of God’s eye. Feel yourself as God feels you — precious, central, protected by His very nature. In that return, the sense of unworthiness vanishes instantly. You remember who you are. You remember that you are the apple of God’s eye.

This is the secret of all transformation. Not in changing the outer, but in seeing yourself exactly as God sees you. God sees you as the apple of His eye, and when you see yourself in the same light, you live from the center of divine reality. You live as the one who is forever beheld in love. You live as the pupil through which the infinite expresses itself perfectly. You are the apple of God’s eye.

Dwell here. Let this awareness expand within you until it fills your entire being. There is no part of you that is outside this truth. Every cell, every thought, every feeling is embraced in the knowledge that you are the apple of God’s eye. God’s eye is upon you with perfect tenderness. His affection surrounds you completely. His power moves through you without limit because you are the center of His regard. You are the apple of God’s eye.

Feel the quiet power of this. Feel the dignity that comes from knowing you are so cherished. No longer do you need to beg or plead or strive to be noticed. You are noticed. You are the notice itself. You are the apple of God’s eye. In the eyes of the One who is your very I AM, you are the most precious, the most central, the most loved. Rest in that. Abide in that. Live from that.

And as this truth becomes your natural consciousness, you will find that life itself responds to the one who knows himself as the apple of God’s eye. Opportunities open where none seemed possible. Peace flows where turmoil once reigned. Love meets you at every turn because you have taken your place as the beloved center. You have seen yourself as God sees you, and in that seeing all things are made new.

You are the apple of God’s eye. Let these words sink into the very depths of your being. You are the apple of God’s eye. God beholds you with eyes of perfect love, and in His sight you are complete, radiant, the focal point of His eternal delight. There is nothing you need to become; you need only to remember what you already are. You are the apple of God’s eye.

Tonight, as you close your eyes and enter the silence, carry this one realization with you. Feel yourself as the apple of God’s eye. Feel the warmth of divine attention resting upon you. Feel the certainty that you are cherished beyond all measure. Let this feeling be your home. Let this knowledge be your constant companion. You are the apple of God’s eye, and nothing can ever change that eternal fact.

The old self that felt small and unworthy is no more. In its place stands the one who knows himself as God knows him — the apple of God’s eye. Walk in this light. Speak from this center. Live as this beloved one. For you are the pupil of the divine eye, the center of infinite affection, the focus of all that is good and true and beautiful. You are the apple of God’s eye.

And in this knowing, every limitation dissolves. Every doubt fades. Every sense of separation vanishes. You are one with the One who beholds you as His most precious. You are the apple of God’s eye, and in that identity you are free, you are whole, you are at peace. This is your true estate. This is who you have always been. Tonight you claim it fully. Tonight you see yourself exactly as God sees you.

You are the apple of God’s eye. Feel it deeply now. Let it permeate your entire consciousness. You are the apple of God’s eye. God’s gaze is fixed upon you with unwavering love. You are the center of His vision, the object of His perfect care. Nothing can touch you except through this truth. You are protected, you are cherished, you are the apple of God’s eye.

Let this truth repeat itself within you like a gentle, powerful current. You are the apple of God’s eye. Again and again, in fresh and living ways, know this: you are the apple of God’s eye. God sees you as His own, as the very heart of His being. In His eyes you are flawless, you are central, you are beloved. Rest in that vision. Live in that vision. Be that which God sees you to be.

This is the great revelation. This is the awakening. When you see yourself as the apple of God’s eye, you have taken your rightful place in the center of all things. You no longer look from the outside in; you live from the inside out as the cherished one. You are the apple of God’s eye, and the world must reflect the glory of that knowing.

Feel it now, more deeply than ever before. You are the apple of God’s eye. The divine attention rests upon you with infinite tenderness. You are the pupil through which God looks upon His creation, and in that looking all is made perfect. You are the apple of God’s eye.

And so, my friend, go forth tonight in this new and ancient truth. You are the apple of God’s eye. See yourself always as God sees you — precious, central, eternally loved. Let this be the foundation of your every moment. Let this be the light that guides your every step. You are the apple of God’s eye, and in that realization you have found the kingdom, you have found yourself, you have found God.

You are the apple of God’s eye. Know it. Feel it. Live it. You are the apple of God’s eye. Nothing else need be said. This is the whole truth. This is the everlasting gospel. You are the apple of God’s eye.
